Talk with John Horack

On Friday, I was invited to attend a small, informal lunch talk with John Horack, the Manager of Science and Mission Systems Office at MSFC. Like myself, his career at NASA started as a UAH graduate student in the Gamma-Ray Astrophysics group. He went on to have a very interesting, diverse career.

He's the best person I've heard talk in a while. He was funny, warm, eloquent, honest, and down-to-earth. So much of what he said about his own experiences rang true for me. It was inspiring to hear him speak about his experiences and choices, how he fearlessly went after what he wanted and worked to achieve success. Most people shouldn't feel so limited in their careers, because we really can do just about anything if we put our mind to it.
