Beeping Gone / FFTs / GRB vs. SGR

The beeping went away on its own (or I fixed it and didn't realize, whichever)!

This week was back to running through FFTs of windowed timing data. This meant I needed to redownload and reprocess Swift XRT data, since I didn't transfer any over from Spiders. But that's okay because it didn't take long, and it gave me something relatively mindless to do while I was studying for a test yesterday. Today I only had time to run through 3 of those GRBs (I say only, but 3 is more than I've been able to do in a day before). No significant signals yet; in fact, the power spectra are surprisingly level. The plots are fairly pretty proof that I've found absolutely nothing... yet.

On the literature side of things, I'm trying to learn the differences between GRBs and SGRs. The March 5, 1979 event peaked my interest. I will try to read more.

I found myself suddenly inspired the other day to write a few lines of a very early draft of a proposal to submit to NASA/NSF/ASGC/whoever to ask for a fellowship... 3 or so months ahead of time. How's that for getting ahead!
