I wrote a program today which actually does what I want it to do. It converts right ascension and declination coordinates from hours, minutes, seconds and degrees, arcminutes, arcseconds to decimals. I only have one small tweak to make: the default in IDL is to read an value input as a floating point, and I need to figure out how to define it as a double precision value.
