Organization / Calibration Files
Mid last week I realized just how disorganized I was, which is not good considering I’m only at the very beginning of my time here. I forced myself to pause researching to do some restructuring and cleaning. I spent a good bit of time organizing papers, paper notes, digital notes, to-do lists, physical folders, and digital folders. I implemented some structure that will hopefully help me as time goes on.
Now I’m trying to set up some software I should have installed weeks ago. Unfortunately, both the UK Swift Data Centre website (where I believe I can get a barycenter correction program) and the ftp part of the NASA GSFC website (where I’m trying to download CALDB) are down. This is what I get for not caring to process my data earlier. Also, the HEASARC Browse website, where I can search for all SGR1900+14 observations (which I downloaded last week but want more information) isn’t working properly.
Progress is frustratingly slow. I’m going to go bang my head against some code for a while and see if I can accomplish something today.
