Work Log Update 4

Aggravating frustration mixed with sweet success has been the feeling these past two weeks. A number of small mishaps have delayed progress and left me with feelings of exasperation. I think the most important thing I've learned recently has been to not give up when mistakes occur, but to try again and move on.

At the same time, this week finally brings the finished products I have been striving for all summer. I completed two bursts, and, had small computer troubles and time considerations not gotten in the way, I would have completed more. It is very satisfying to know that I learned enough to take a burst from start to finish, at least in a small way. Once I have progressed enough with my current task (XRT PC mode), I will feel comfortable enough to move on and expand my knowledge in other areas of GRB study. This is what I hope to accomplish this fall.

Although in one week I end my time here in Huntsville, I very much look forward to continuing my work in Melbourne. I feel I have much more to learn and accomplish. I look forward to the challenge.
