Work Log Update 3
Much of my time lately has been dedicated to creating a poster for last Tuesday’s mid-summer poster session. I gathered information about the history and basics of GRBs and condensed the material as much as I could to maximize the amount of information portrayed while minimizing the amount of text printed. Although I believe my poster and Michelle’s complementary poster came out very well for first-timers, I learned a lesson about double-checking all my facts, even ones from official sources. That mistake will soon be remedied and the poster will be perfected before its final printing. Overall I was pleased with both posters and the poster session in general.
I am currently throwing myself into the study of Python with the hope of being able to decipher and modify the light curve binning and time adjusting script we have been waiting on. It’s a simple language that resembles many others such as Java, C, and C++, but my knowledge of programming is limited. I am optimistic that we’ll be able to learn and use this script proficiently by next week.
